Vivo Cellular India evaded customs responsibility value Rs 2,217 crore, says DRI | Newsondot – On Time Techy

Vivo Mobile India Personal Restricted has been found to evade customs accountability worth Rs 2,217 crore by the Directorate of Earnings Intelligence (DRI). Vivo India is the subsidiary agency of  Vivo Communication Experience Co. Ltd. which relies in Guangdong, China. The company is engaged throughout the enterprise of manufacturing, assembling, wholesale shopping for and promoting along with distribution of cell handsets and tools.

DRI has claimed that by the investigation, searches have been carried out by DRI officers on the manufacturing unit premises of  Vivo India. The federal government firm claims to have found incriminating proof indicating wilful mis-declaration throughout the description of positive devices imported by Vivo India, for use throughout the manufacture of cellphones.

DRI claims that this mis-declaration resulted in wrongful availment of ineligible accountability exemption benefits by Vivo India, amounting to Rs 2,217 crore. After completion of the investigation, a Current Set off Uncover has been issued to Vivo India demanding customs accountability amounting to Rs 2,217 crore, beneath the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962.

A sum of Rs 60 crore has been already voluntarily deposited by Vivo India, in course of the discharge of their differential accountability obligation. Simply recently, in a single different set of investigations carried out by DRI, Current Set off Notices demanding accountability of Rs. 4,403.88 crore have been issued to Oppo Mobiles India Personal Restricted.
